A warm white bulb brings out the richest tone in the orange glass. A cool white bulb gives a paler, more neutral glow, so it’s worth choosing warm white if you want the shade to look its best.
Tinted glass softens the output a little compared with clear or white glass. If the light will be used over a table or worktop, a slightly brighter E27 LED bulb, around 800–1000 lumens, keeps things comfortably lit.
Yes. An E27 smart bulb fits the lamp holder, letting you adjust brightness or light colour from an app or voice assistant. No extra wiring is needed.
As a general guide, leave roughly 75–90cm between the bottom of the shade and the surface. This keeps the light focused where you need it without blocking the view across the table.
With an LED bulb, the glass stays much cooler than with traditional bulbs, because LEDs produce far less heat. Even so, let it cool for a few minutes before touching or cleaning.
It will be very close, but the glass may look slightly different depending on your screen settings and room lighting. Its tone also shifts noticeably between switched off in daylight and lit in the evening.
