Looks great by our side entrance and gives off a lovely warm glow.

The upward light breaks into fine rays that fan across the wall, while a softer cone of light falls below. On smooth render or painted brick, that pattern does the decorating for you. Fit two or more in a line and the repeated shapes give a long, blank wall a sense of rhythm after dark.

With the light off, the cube is a small, quiet shape that doesn’t compete with your door, cladding or planting. Switched on, the light travels along the wall instead of out towards you, so there is no bright point shining into your eyes as you walk up to the house.

Yes. It connects to your mains wiring, and outdoor electrical work should be carried out by a qualified electrician.
No. It is a decorative accent light with a low-wattage output, so it shapes the wall and marks the space. Pair it with other lighting if you need to see clearly across a seating or dining area.
As a starting point, try 1 to 1.5 metres apart. Hold or tape them in place and check the effect after dark before drilling, because the spread of light varies with wall height and colour.
Around head height or slightly above works well. Leave plenty of clear wall above and below so both beams have room to show.
No sensor is built in. Because it runs from your home wiring, an electrician can connect it to a separate timer, dusk sensor or motion sensor.
Switch off the power, then wipe the top and bottom openings with a soft, damp cloth. Dust, cobwebs and water marks on the openings are what blur the beams.
